AECP Level 1 All About Layering 4

Hello everyone! I am back to wrap up this week's posting with another card for my Altenew Educator Certification Program. You can read more about my involvement in this program in this blog post.

My card for today is for the "All about Layering 4" class. Similar to the All About Layering 3 this class deals with layering stamps and incorporates more ways to combine them with additional elements including the background.

The background of a card can make it beautifully intricate or can keep it beautifully simple. I was very inspired by one of the examples that used an ombre water color background. I used a red violet pan from my Gansi Tambi watercolors to do my background.

The stamps and diecuts are from Altenew Shrub Rose set. I only did 2 layers for the bottom 2 flowers because having different level depths can also add much interest to your card as does leaving elelments uncolored. For the center flower I layered Black Soot, Lost Shadow, Speckled Egg, Broken China and Unchartered Mariner Distress Oxide ink.

Layering the center flower above the others continues the theme of depth on the card. I kept the sentiment simple in the bottom right since the card already had bold focal points.
